Mead Brewers Contest

Friday the 23rd -- 9:00 pm

We will judge each Mead in each category from a scale of zero to ten, with ten being the highest possible score. We will judge each mead from a decanter that has been numbered to help prevent byist judging.

Each mead will be introduced with a little bio, such as this is a straight mead, or this is a melomel or cyser.
Cyser: Mead with apple juices added
Metheglin: Mead with cloves, cinnamon and other spices
Melomel: Mead with fruit juices, except apple, and perhaps spices
Traditional or Straight: simply honey, water and yeast

Things to keep in mind for each category:
   1. Appearance: how attractive is it?
   2. Clarity: how cloudy or clear is it? Clear being better, of course
   3. Aroma / Bouquet: how appealing is the smell?
   4. Overall flavor: how is the flavor based on the type of mead you
       are drinking?
   5. Alcohol content: is there a warm/pleasant after burn or is it wimpy?
   6. Drinkability & overall impression: how much would you enjoy
       drinking it again, seriously?
