Archery

This event will be judged on the accuracy of competitors hitting a target. In this event youths will compete with a 15 pound draw youth compound bow. Youths competing in this event are welcome to use their own equipment. Score will be given on the total of three (3) shots.

Knife Throw

This event will be judged on the accuracy of competitors hitting a target. In this event youths will compete with a single edged 9 ounce throwing knife. Score will be given on the total of three (3) throws.

Caber Toss

This event will be judged on the accuracy of competitors turning the Caber over one complete turn and landing it nearest to 12:00 on a marker as if it where the long hand on a clock. In this event youths will compete with a 5 pound wood Caber. Score will be given on the best of two (2) throws.

Hammer Throw

This event will be judged on distance from the thrower within 5 feet to the left or right of a marker line. In this event youths will compete with a 5 pound hammer. Any throwing position will be allowed and the thrower will be allowed to step as they throw as long as they do not pass the throwing line. Score will be given on the best of two (2) throws.

Javelin Throw

This event will be judged on distance from the thrower within 5 feet to the left or right of a marker line. In this event youths will compete with a 3 pound spear. Any throwing position will be allowed and the thrower will be allowed to step as they throw as long as they do not pass the throwing line. Score will be given on the best of two (2) throws.

Foot Race

This event will be judged on the speed by which the competitor can complete the marked course. Fastest time wins.

Cut and Pillage

This event will be judged on the speed by which the competitor can complete the marked course wile hitting their targets, maneuvering the obstacles and returning with the prize. The fastest time with the fewest faults wins.

All events will be given a first place winner only. All first place winners in the youth events will receive a Champions Pendant and a certificate of championship in their event. Should there be more children then events, all children who compete in the youth events that do not take first place in an event will receive a certificate of competition.



Glima - Buxnatok Style (Trouser-grip)

contestants compete standing opposite each other and holding each other with a prescribed grip. Other grips are not allowed. The two glima contestants enter the ring and face each other in the centre of the ring and shake hands. They then put their right foot forward, take up the glima position and take hold of their opponents belt with the appropriate grip. The contestants hold position until the start is signaled, then treading begins with movements in a clockwise direction. Movements shall be smooth with slack arms. When the contest has begun, the contestants must be in continuous motion, treading, attacking or defending. Competitors will be separated by general size for the first round of the tournament. Within a bout the winner shall be the fighter with the best of three throws. The winner of each bout will move on until only one winner remains.

All events will be given a first place winner only. All first place winners will receive a Champions award and a certificate of championship in their tournament devision.
